Your son

Tell me what it’s like dear friend

She whispered in my ear

You want to know the tragedy my heart holds very dear?

Well my friend it goes like this,

The answer is unclear,

The blustering wind exposes my wounds,

the sea still swallows me whole,

I’m drowning and I can’t swim up,

There is no clear way home,

My heart it aches,

My chest it swells,

My body is so numb,

Tell me will this ever stop?

Lord, What will I become?

It’s true they say,

The pain does stay,

It burns deeply in my lungs,

But I’m glad to say,

Memories do not fade,

They are very far from done,

So remember mom,

I’ll be okay,

I’ll hold you very dear,

My heart will beat,

My eyes will dry,

My lungs will fill with air,

I’ll laugh,

I’ll cry,

I’ll hold on tight,

I’ll remember all that’s dear,

For you were my wonderful mother,

And I’m your loving son.

Xoxo,

Dom
